Peter Baeker Is OWN Priscilla was the final show to grace the stage of The Butterfly Club before its untimely closure in 2025.
While working at The Butterfly Club, an independent cabaret and performing arts theatre in Melbourne’s CBD, I had the opportunity to work directly with performers to design posters and social media content that promoted and supported their shows. I aim to reflect each show’s tone and voice while maintaining cohesion with the venue’s overall brand identity.
I created bold artwork that reflected his heartfelt cabaret retelling of his life story, incorporating photographs by Lucky Frawley from his featured slot in one of the club’s earlier variety showcases.

When designing artwork for clients, I put together tailored packages that include final files sized to their requested specs, along with variations optimised for social media. With approval, these packages can also include raw assets, such as logos and supporting graphics, that can be used for merchandising or future promo.

When approached by Perth band Teen Angst, I created a poster for an upcoming show that visually aligned with the theme of their latest album. I also developed Western Cowgirl-inspired assets that were later repurposed for merchandise, including T-shirts and tote bags.

“The most difficult part of performing as a profession is knowing how and where to get started. Where It All Began ushers in a full range of experienced theatre professionals and joins forces with promising new superstars to bring you the first look at cabaret’s newest performers. See them first at Where It All Began!”
With these shows programmed on an ongoing basis, and the performers being largely unknown, I needed to create artwork that could promote the season without becoming dated or tied to any specific act. I incorporated varying silhouettes to suggest a range of performance styles and developed a flexible template that could be updated easily when acts were announced on socials.
Jack Young's Where It All Began was a collaboration with up-and-coming cabaret variety performers, giving those who dream of the stage a chance to begin their journey toward the bright lights of theatre. The premise of the ongoing variety show was:
The final product captured the essence of the show and its audience, keeping the design concise yet eye-catching through thoughtful use of colour and layout.
